Almost everyone loves spaghetti. If someone asks you what is the first thing that comes to mind when spaghetti is mentioned, we all think of Italy. All around the world people make and consume spaghetti. And the Italians are proud of the preparation of this meal.
We all use the same technique to boil spaghetti. Take a deep pot, fill it with cold water and bring it to boil. After it is boiled add a pinch of salt. This recipe is for all types of pasta.
After the water boils, add the spaghetti noodles. You need to stir it well so that you separate the noodles and cover the length of the entire pasta. Some people use forks for this procedure, so that they can separate the spaghetti altogether. You need to stir it regularly so that the pasta doesn’t stick to the pan and become a big clump.
This cooking procedure has been widely accepted and used. But here you can read, how we have been doing this wrong for so long. There is a faster way to cook the spaghetti and you can use the liquid for cooking other food or sauces.
First you need to take a frying pan. I know it sound unusual and even funny maybe, but a frying pan is more effective than the deep pot. After this you add the spaghetti noodles. See the difference? It is spaghetti first and not the water.
Pour quart of water over the noodles. Make sure the water is cold. It is different from the previous procedure where the water was boiling instead of cold. The cold water helps the spaghetti not to stick one to another. And if we look at the amount of water in this procedure we can see that it is far less than the water we used in the previous procedure. And the reason is simple; the frying pan doesn’t have as much space like the deep pot.
The water in this procedure becomes stock and can be used for other cooking, making sure that the spaghetti are prepared effectively. The advantage of this process is that it doesn’t require draining the pasta after it has been boiled. You can save a lot of energy and time on this second real procedure in cooking the real spaghetti.
